The Lancer from AXO is the one and only motorcycle boot equipped with BOA closure system. For those not familiar with it, the BOA system consists in a steel cable strategically placed around the foot. You can close and open the boot just by turning the knob and pulling it. The system has been used for years in the snowboard, ski and mountain bike industry and it just plain works (great). The most obvious advantage is (apparently) comfort. You turn the knob and the boot closes with micrometrical precision, pull the knob and you are already onto your loafers. Very effective. Truth is the most important feature is another: the BOA works like a real seat belt for your feet. The foot stays comfortably snug and has no chance to move forward in case you should crash and fly (auch) into the ground. Just imagine you are playing whatever sport on a very sticky ground. You come to a sudden stop, your feet move into the shoes and "crash" into the tips. Well, take that and multiply it by the bike's speed and the brute power of a high-speed crash and you get the idea. No movement = safe feet. The foot stays there where it is supposed to stay. The system  has been tested for years by our world cup racing athletes, Julian Simon, current 125 cc world champ, has been using the Lancer for the past three years and really loves the added comfort and safety that only the BOA system can allow. Crashing is never fun but sensibly-designed equipment can help prevent and limit the most negative consequences.
