On the beautiful track of Beto Carrero (Brazil) AXO has experienced a thrilling week end, thanks to Tony Cairoli, who continues his sheer dominance in the MXGP class. The AXO rider has sealed a fantastic double win in front of the Brazilian crowd and increases his advantage in the standings.

After a troublesome qualifying race on Saturday, Cairoli showed his true class in Sundays’ races. In the first outing he passed several rivals to make his move on leader Van Horebeek (Yamaha) and to win the race with 15 seconds of advantage on him! In Race 2 he started with the leading group: in a few laps he passed Desalle and then race leader Paulin, to conquer his fourth moto win of the season so far, the second double win  and the second GP win. The red plate holder now leads the standings with thirty points on second placed Paulin.

Antonio Cairoli: “I really like this track and the place, too. There’s the sea and a beautiful track, couldn’t really want more…I was confident for good racing today, the track is well prepared, it’s technical and demanding and there were good lines to pass. I think with the guys out there we have been given the crowd an exciting show. Unfortunately, in the second moto, I had my ankle twisted again after I passed Paulin. It hurts but I hope it’s nothing serious, because the next GP will be at Arco and I’m eager to race there in front of my fans!!”.

Difficult week end for AXO flagship rider Josè Butron: after sealing the holeshot in Race 1 (the third out of six motos!!), the Spaniard crashed in the same heat and couldn’t go higher than tenth in the Brazilian GP.

Don’t miss the GP of Trentino, to be held in Arco in two weeks time!!
