ANTONIO CAIROLI

The legendary track of Matterley Basin, England, hosted the eleventh round of the World Championship MXGP 2016. The track that is built a few kilometers from the nearby Winchester, was as usual the scene of spectacular races, full of thrill. On the fast track that crosses several times a green grassy valley, Cairoli has already won four times, tying forever his name to the English track, winning here, his seventh world title in 2013. Sixth on the qualification heat of Saturday, Tony has signed an amazing hole-shot in race one Sunday, unfortunately losing two positions in the first two corners and battling during the race in fourth place and managing to grab the second place with two overtaking, in a fantastic end of the race. Determined to do well in the second race, the eight-time World Champion has had to deal with a difficult start in the pouring rain, cornering in the middle of the group. After recovering different positions, the Sicilian landed badly on the long quad jump, making up a bad knock to his left wrist that forced him to slow down dramatically. Having recovered the forces after a few laps, the rider of the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing team, finished in tenth place, and he is now only three points from the second position in the standings.

 GLENN COLDENHOFF

Tenth in Saturday's qualifying race, the Dutchman of the De Carli team failed to get a good start in the first moto, forced so to come back and gain few positions, ending in tenth place, fighting till the last lap. At the start of the second heat Glen repeated the same start, struggling now to remount positions and having to deal with a problem of visibility caused by the persistent rain, which slowed him dramatically. Coldenhoff finished fifteen, ending the British Grand Prix at the twelfth position.
