In the charming scenery of the track of Arco di Trento, placed between the mountains of the north east of Italy, the GP of Trentino marked the first European round of the 2014 Motocross World Championship. Tony Cairoli, in his TC222 gear, revisited by AXO to honor the colors of the Italian flag, Tony Cairoli gave it all as usual.

Qualified second with good pace in saturday’s race, Tony Cairoli was happy and ready to give to his fans a great show in the two Sunday’s races. Unfortunately, due to a contact with another rider, he started the first moto dead last and only a massive move up gave him the final sixth place.
In the second moto he grabbed the seventh position at the first turn, he pushed hard till the last corner and crossed the finish line, after a couple of crashes, in fourth with his KTM SX 350 F. Scoring 33 points and ending the race fifth overall, the AXO flagship rider is still leading the Championship.

Ninth spot overall for AXO MX2 rider Josè Butron, who is still trying to adapt to the power of the factory KTM he is mounting this year, more demanding to ride than the bike he was used to last year.

A fantastic result for AXO came from Joakin Furbetta, who stepped on the third step of the podium of the first round of the 125 European Championship.

Tony Cairoli: “I did too many mistakes today, the track was very demanding because of the hard and slippery ground. I’ve tried to give all for my fans but it was not possible to do better today. Anyway I’m happy for the speed I had and to come back home with no injury. I would like to congratulate Joakin Furbetta, for his first podium today in MX125 class.”
