ANTONIO CAIROLI

Heroic home Grand Prix for Antonio Cairoli who dressed in red, with its brand new SR gear with a tricolore number on his shoulders and pulled out all the grit necessary to compete in a great race, despite the recent accident in the British Grand Prix. Qualified eighth on Saturday race, the KTM rider was hampered at the start by a rival and went last on the first corner. Tony, under a blazing sun with scorching temperatures, furiously fought back a huge amount of positions, moving up to sixth place finish. In race two, the Sicilian, determined to fight in front of the Italian public, went off in front of everyone, with one of his great start, taking the head of the group and having a dramatic duel with the red plate of the main series. The eight-time world champion finished third, in pain, struggling with the left arm. Cairoli, wearing only at the Grand Prix of Lombardia the brand new SR gear, took the second place in the standings before the three weeks summer break. Next round of the MXGP will be in Loket in the Czech Republic on July 24.

GLENN COLDENHOFF

The young Dutch rider that this year ride alongside with Cairoli, continues in his good strike of results. After having his best timed practice of the season Glen had the best qualifying race of the year, ended in fifth position. At ease on sandy soil Coldenhoff had a brilliant start in race one, coming third at the first corner. Tried by the hot temperatures the KTM team rider was unable to maintain the position, receding gradually up to the eighth place finish. In the second half things went better and after a good start and a solid race he finished in fifth place. Glen closes in sixth place his best Grand Prix of the year and went back to the eighth place in the standings of the championship.

TEAM KTM DE CARLI RACING JUNIOR
GIANLUCA FACCHETTI

Third podium of the season for the Italian rider of the KTM De Carli Junior Team. Gianluca showed in Mantova great things on the demanding  and slippery track, showing off its best qualities. Qualified with the fastest time in his group, Facchetti had good start in both races, jumping out of the gate on top. In race one, his leadership, however, lasts only a few corners after a slip relegates him in fourth place. In race two Gianluca didn't make mistakes and holds the head of the group up to six laps to go, when he lost speed and had to give up to the leader of the series. The not yet perfect physical condition conditioned the end of the race, ended in fourth place, enough to gain the third step of the podium. Facchetti is now back in fourth place in the standings.

The Honda JTech Team had to face the home race with two injured rider that where not able to take the start. Both Henry Jacobi and Nick Kouwemberg weren't in Mantova for the Grand Prix of Lombardia.

NICHOLAS ADAMS
The South African rider in forces to the Honda JTech team is continuing the series of good results. Nicholas qualifies with an excellent seventh time in his group, which gave him the thirteenth starting gate and taked home two good results enabling him to earn fifteen points.

FILIPPO ZONTA
Filippo Zonta missed the qualification of the home Grand Prix, the rider from Verona was hit by a rival in the last chance race, while he was a step from being qualified.
