The MXGP of Turkey, eighteenth round of the season, was hosted today in Afyon, on the brand new track builded inside the Afyonkarahisar Spor Kompleksi, four hundred kilometers east of the capital of Istanbul. With the riders of the EMX250 in pause for two weeks and Arminas Jasikonis still injured, the Honda Red Moto Assomotor team showed up at the start of the race with only Petar Petrov. The Bulgarian, back from a positive weekend in the home race, tried to continue to progress, to end this season to the fullest. Seventeenth at the end of the free practice, Petar ended the timed session at eighteenth place, same placement with which ended the qualifying race on Saturday. Sunday, after a good warmup, in which he scored the fourteenth time, Petrov started well, passing in the first fifteen on the first lap, but then lost some position in the race, ended before the deadline due to a technical problem with the bike. Starting again well in race two, he crossed the finish line in seventeenth position, gaining four points, which added to the three of the first heat, are worth the seventeenth final place. Next appointment with the MXGP in two weeks, on the Dutch sand of Assen.

#152 PETAR PETROV (18-17)
Well, today was bad but, I mean, I think that we had only bad luck, because we had a bike problem in the first moto and also in the second one. There is not so much else to say, I'm just disappointed but hopefully we will finish the last two rounds stronger.
