March 6, 2018

It was a weekend of hard work for the Honda Red Moto Assomotor Team in Argentina. The first race of the year saw for the first time the two new riders racing together. Arminas Jasikonis had a decent weekend, taking back home some solid points and fighting as he know, never giving up. For Petrov the debut on the CRF 450 was a bit more difficult but we have to consider that the Bulgarian rider could train only few times after the injury that affected him at the beginning of F. Anyway the team now head to Europe, where some test and training will give to the riders the right confidence to face the second round of the MXGP in two weeks on the sand of Valkenswaard, in Holland.

It wasn’t easy this weekend, because everything was new with the team and the past injury. Everything just had to come together quickly for this first race. I had no pressure and didn’t expect anything. I just wanted to be back racing with no crashes and no injuries and in the end it went okay actually. I know that I’m only riding 60-70% so speed isn’t there but now I have to work, but a big thanks to the team for helping me through this first race.

It was a difficult weekend but I didn't expect anything else than this. I broke my collarbone at the beginning of February and we were not sure that I could even make the race because 10 days ago the collarbone was still completely broken so I just decided to come to see how it feels with the bike and have a good practice seeing what happen. I rode only 3 time in Belgium on a frozen soil and it was ok but here is completely different and the level is very high. Overall I can say that I'm satisfied with one point I get in the first moto, in the second one I was too much in pain and I had to retire. I'm sure that at home I will feel better after we will make some good test. It was my first race in 9 month but I'm excited because now I know where I'm.

A solid debut for the LRT KTM Team in the 2018 season. Davy Pootjes did well in all the races, being for long time in the top ten in the qualifying race, fighting in the first heat after a not perfect start and scoring a superb hole-shot in the second moto. The young dutch was able to ride in the top 3 for a third of the race and only an annoying arm-pump put him out of the top ten at the end of the 30 minutes plus two laps. Next round of the MX2 will be hosted in Holland, home country of the #46.

#46 DAVY POOTJES (19-14)

Actually the results were not as I wanted but riding and speed were quite good. In the qualifying race I came from 10th to 8th and then in the end I got arm-pump and I finished 12th. but speed was good. In the first and second motet was quite the same story, arm-pump is the problem at the moment but not the speed. I got pretty good start and the hole-shot in the second moto, the bike is really good and I could run in the first ten minutes in top 3 what was very positive. In the last for years i was often injured and that's the reason why now I'm a bit out of the race mood, we just keep building and every race will be better.
