GRAND PRIX OF TRENTINO MXGP

April 9, 2018

TEAM HONDA RED MOTO ASSOMOTOR

Not an easy weekend for the Honda riders of the Red Moto Assomotor Team that struggled to find the best possible results on the hard pack of Arco di Trento. In the middle of an astonishing scenario the two MXGP riders, Arminas Jasikonis and Petar Petrov could only take back home five points overall, what is not enough to satisfy them. The next round in seven days will give a good chance to them to show what they can do on a softer ground that fits better to their skills.

#27 ARMINAS JASIKONIS (17-DNF)

We had both moto struggle with the bike, in the first one I could finish 17th. and in the second the bike finished so I had to quit. It was not a good weekend unfortunately and it’s a shame because I had a good pace but probably I overtrained this week so I wasn’t feeling so fresh today. Yesterday it was much better and I ended 11th the qualification race but today it wasn’t there but still, I’m not in hospital, so next week I can race again.

#152 PETAR PETROV (20-23)

I still can’t find my speed yet after my pre-season injury. It’s been a struggle with that and with finding the right setups but I feel like we’re improving. Someone crashed in front of me in the first moto so I had come back from a long way back and could only get to 20th. I tried to be a bit more aggressive in the second race and it didn’t work out but I do believe that the results will come. I’m still getting used to the new class and while it’s hard to be at the back and say we’re making progress, I believe we are. I don’t like being 15th or 20th so I’m going to try my hardest to improve in these next few rounds.

#172 MATHYS BOISRAME (36-14)

I’m happy about my weekend , this was my debut in MX2 World Championship and I have to say that scoring the first points of my career at the first Grand Prix was a great feeling. In race one I crashed with another rider at the first lap and I had the brake damaged so I couldn’t go on and I was forced to retire. At the second start I took a good one and I give all I had to finish in 14th. place.

TEAM LRT KTM

The fourth round of the 2018 MX2 World Championship went pretty well for the LRT Team and for Davy Pootjes who showed a good speed and a solid pace trough the whole weekend, getting into his best Grand Prix so far this year. The dutch rider had a good feeling with the stony and tricky circuit since the Saturday's morning free practice and ended up race two on Sunday with a fantastic final sixth place that give good confidence to him and the team for the next round in seven days on the Portuguese soil of Agueda.

#46 DAVY POOTJES (8-6)

This was a really positive weekend for us! In free practice I started week my race weekend, ending in eight place, then I was a bit unlucky in the qualification race because I was eight till the last lap, when I crashed twice, ending tenth. Anyway the feeling with the track was pretty good so I was confident that I could do well on Sundays. Today I had two good starts and I was able to finish 8th in race one and 6th in race two for a 6th overall that is a good result! Thanks to my team for the great bike they provide.
