SBK DONINGTON: GOOD JOB FOR GUINTOLI E CANEPA

May 26, 2014

This weekend the engines turned on at Donington, one of the favorite tracks of the home rider Aprilia, Sylvain Guintoli.

Saturday during a qualification session characterized by the rain, Guintoli starts cautious after a fall during the tests session.

Sunday the race is dry. From the second row Guintoli has an excellent starting point that drives him immediately to fight for the lead.

An engaging duel with Loriz Baez however put Sylvain in trouble and a run off the track error made him lose important seconds that then he has no longer recovered. He got the 7th place in the first run.

In the second run he fiercely competitive started again and at the first corner he placed immediately first in front of Melandri and Baz. After many turns of events and thrilling overtaking he ended the race at the third place with a good lead over Giuliano and overtaken by Skyes and Baz.

It is a podium that however gives important points to the rank.

Also for Canepa it was a competitive weekend. He ends both races in the second position of SBK EVO, after a fierce fight and last corner overtaking by David Salom.

The next race is on the 8th of June at the Malaysian circuit of Sepang.
