Some excellent results for Sylvain Guintoli on the track at Laguna Seca! In Race 1, Sylvain, who started from the second place on the grid, stood out from the first lap, taking advantage of Tom Sykes’ "corkscrew" hesitation. However, Melandri did not take too long to overtake him, carrying on with an incomparable pace. Anyway, Guintoli was able keep the distance between the Italian rider as well as Sykes and ended up with a great second place.

Even in race two Guintoli was among the leaders since the early stages. The race has unfortunately been suspended for Lowes’ fall; once resumed, the red flag for Barrier’s accident stopped it again. With few laps remaining Guintoli achieved another second place, which confirm this same position in the World championship ranking.

Sylvain Guintoli: “I gave 100% like I always do. In Race 1 I had a good pace and I didn't make any mistakes. In the first laps I was feeling good and I probably could have attacked Marco, but I preferred to stay behind him. From the halfway point on he was really fast. He rode very well and I wasn't able to match his times. The red flags in Race 2 reminded me of last year and I thought maybe I could overturn the result, but Sykes is really unbeatable in a short dash. We are definitely in it and we won't give up, but during the summer break we'll have to work hard to come back even stronger for the finale season.”

Also for Canepa it was a competitive weekend with a second place in race one. During the race two a clutch failure one meant Niccolò to return to the garage and retire from the race.
