A fantastic Catalan Grand Prix put a stylish end to the 2009 Supermoto season handing AXO other great results: Gerald Delepine won the overall of the S2 class courtesy of a second spot in Race 1 and a win in Race 2 and claimed the runner up spot of the S2 Supermoto World Championship, while Ivan Lazzarini, who still had a chance to win the World Championship of the S1 class was second on the podium of the Catalan Gran Prix and third overall in the final standings.

Gerald Delepine: “I am very happy with the win, it’s always a great emotion to win the last race of the season! This year I finished second overall, which I am quite satisfied with…of course the goal was to win, but Adrien (Chareyre) has been strong and consistent all the season long, so I think he deserves the title!”.

Ivan Lazzarini: “We came to Spain aware that the chances to win the title were very little, as my gap to Thierry (Van den Bosch) was 19 points…I am happy about the race and the season, and I wish to thank the Team and the sponsors, who always supported me!”.
