AXO made it to another good result this week end, thanks to Gerald Delepine, who grabbed the second step of the podium, after the fourth Grand Prix of the season was stopped at the end of a wet race one due to heavy fog.
The only race of the Andorran Grand Prix saw Delepine starting form third: the experienced Husqvarna rider had a good start and set to second place and chasing Adrien Chareyre for the win. At the end of the race Delepine crossed the chequered flag in second spot, after he decided not to take risks. Ivan Lazzarini was fourth aboard his Honda.
Race two was cancelled as heavy fog covered the track from the end of the first race until late in the evening. With no vision on the track it was impossible to run the final heat.
Gerald Delepine: “I am happy with my second place here today, even if I am disappointed about the fact we could only race one moto. I was ready to fight for the win, but the weather conditions were really bad and I think it was a wise decision not to race the second heat. Now I am third in the Championship and I am looking forward to the next race!”.
