DEBON RUNNER UP IN QATAR AT HIS DEBUT IN MOTO2!

The Moto2 category opened for business on Sunday night in Qatar, writing a new page of history. Spaniard Alex Debon took the runner up spot in the new born 600cc prototype chassis class’ first event, thanks to a good start and a good performance throughout the whole race. Debon kept his pace and never lost the contact with the leading group and, at the last lap, made his move on Cluzel, which gave him a well-deserved second spot of the GP of Qatar.

Alex Debon: “Quite a perfect start to the season! I had a hard winter because of the injury I sustained in the winter tests, but I have trained hard to come back to top form for the opening round. We have worked a lot with the Team all week end long to find a good set-up for the race and it worked out well! The race has been tough, but I had a lot of fun battling with the best guys up there! Second place here is good enough to me, but this is just the beginning and now I am heading to Motegi willing to take victory!”.

Problems for Julian Simón, who had to bring his bike back in after the first corner, because of a clutch problem that ended his night prematurely.

Bradley Smith in 125 had to be content with 8th spot, after struggling with the bike all week end long.

Another good result came for AXO from Motocross: the second round of the series was held in Mantova (north of Itlay) where Ken De Dycker took fourth overall at the end of a tough day of two 35 minutes plus two laps motos.

Keeno made the most of his poor starting gate position to conquer a fourth and a fifth place, which gave him the fourth spot overall of the GP of Lombardia.
