The Dolna Metropolia Race track of Pleven (Bulgaria) hosted a successful  Grand Prix for long time AXO rider Ivan Lazzarini, who clinched the third step of the podium at the end of the three action-packed motos.

The Italian rider set the fourth fastest time in Saturday’s qualifying, but it was in the Superpole that Lazzarini starred, clocking a perfect lap and putting his name on the Superpole.

The enthusiast crowd who attended the Grand Prix of Bulgaria cheered Ivan as the winner of Race 1, which he led from the first corner to the chequered flag. The Honda rider then grasped two 3^rd places in the following motos: as he wasn’t able to repeat the good start taken in the first moto, Ivan had to come back in both races, which wasn’t easy considering that the Bulgarian track offers few effective lines. At the end of the day, Ivan claimed the third step of the podium of the GP, as well as the third spot in the Championship standings.

Young gun Elia Sammartin ended up a difficult week end with 13^th spot, which doesn’t reflect his real potential.

In the meantime, Steve Ramon took the third step of the podium of the third round of the Belgian Championship held in Kester, courtesy of a fantastic win in the second outing, a third spot in the first moto and a fifth place in Race 3.

Congratulations to Saso Kragelj, too, who yesterday took the win of the third round of the Slovenian Championship: Saso has won all the three races of the series and leads the standings with 24 points.
